The funeral of a hero Black Country soldier killed in a bomb blast in Afghanistan will take place in Dudley on Thursday.
Full military honours will be given to guardsman Daniel Probyn, who died on May 26 during an operation to clear a Taliban stronghold on the outskirts of Garmsir, Helmand Province.
The 22-year-old, originally of Tipton and whose family live in Brierley Hill, was a member of the 1st Battalion Grenadier Guards. Four soldiers from the battalion were also injured.
Guardsman Probyn's inquest was opened and adjourned by Wiltshire coroner David Masters, sitting in Salisbury, today.
The alternative route for traffic includes Park Road, Bower Lane, Mogul Lane, Netherend Lane, Maypole Hill and Cradley Forge.
The former Tividale High School pupil, who joined the Army in 2003, was hailed a hero who saved the life of others during the tragedy.
Battalion lieutenant Andrew Tiernan said: "He is a hero to all of us and will be remembered as such."
